So pleased to have 3 images nominated for awards in 3 different catorgories in this years 15th International Color Awards. This image was nominated in the Fashion category. I wanted to capture a feeling of the ‘spirit of the wind’ inspired by a René Lalique glass car mascot of that name which sat on the bonnet of a car in 1928.

So glad I photographed L.Manze pie and Eel shop in

So glad I photographed L.Manze pie and Eel shop in Walthamstow high St for the Art trail last year. Really sad that it has closed permanently after nearly a century of trading. It opened in 1929. It was listed in 2013. Probably many reasons for closure but I think a possible contributory factor may be that as well as changing tastes also a changing demographic that just didn’t ‘get it’. Such a shame, but times move on I suppose.
